Delegates at Offshore Europe 2013 Invited to Experience Innovation Through Time

Sep 02 2013

This year‘s Offshore Europe event taking place in Aberdeen 3-6 September is set to be the biggest and most successful yet for global safety specialist Dräger (Germany).

Building on its success at the last Offshore Europe event held in 2011 and attended by 48,114 attendees, Dräger is inviting this year‘s delegates to visit the team at stand 3E100.

Dräger‘s focus is ‘Innovation through time; our history, your future‘, to highlight its approach to innovation and problem solving and demonstrate that it doesn‘t just offer products – but also safety solutions that protect lives and infrastructure.

Visitors to the stand will be able to take part in the interactive Dräger Seminar Sphere which will welcome key industry speakers including co-founder of Fraenkel-Wright Ltd., Peter Fraenkel MBE; Rita Marcella, Dean of Faculty at Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University and Mike Pederson, Managing Director at Norway2UK. These high profile figures will be discussing key industry topics such as technological developments in marine renewable energy and the management of safety and competency in the Oil and Gas industry, whilst Dräger representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the company’s innovative and cutting edge solutions for the Oil and Gas offshore industry.

Delegates will also be able to enjoy a trip down memory lane in the The Dräger Experience which looks at the innovative approach to problem solving over the decades. Visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to discover how Dräger has been successfully providing solutions to challenging issues for its customers for over 120 years.

The following key innovations throughout the ages will include: Dräger’s first innovation and patent - the Lubeca valve in 1889. This made it possible to control the removal of carbon dioxide from a high pressure tank to create beer tap systems; When Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Everest in 1953, they used Dräger oxygen tank; Dräger developed the first Alcotest tube in 1953 which made it possible to measure alcohol on the breath for the first time. And Dräger recently received the UKs first Home Office approval for the Dräger Drugtest 5000.

Via the interactive area, visitors can also contribute their own ideas and opinions on the future challenges facing the Oil and Gas sector face and how they can be overcome.

And for delegates looking to take the weight off and relax, Dräger‘s Technology for Life Café, will be serving up freshly brewed coffee from a dedicated barista throughout the day. Special “retro” sweets will also be available for those with a sweet tooth.
