FAC can cause the deterioration of walls and piping over time which
can lead to catastrophic failures. Small amounts of Cr, Cu and Mo in carbon steel alloys significantly reduce the rate of FAC. FAC inspection is critical at nuclear and fossil fuel power plants.
Solution: Use handheld Alpha Seriesâ„¢ XRF from Innov-X Systems Inc to detect trace levels of Cr in carbon steel for FAC inspection. The field-proven Innov-X analyzer can read down to 0.02% Cr. Compact design enables testing of piping, corner welds, flanges, joints, etc. PDA enables test data transfer into
Checkworks© software.
