The Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) will host its 77th Annual Meeting & Exhibition from May 21-25, 2023, at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. This event is the lubricant industry's most respected gathering, which provides attendees with technical information, professional development, and international networking opportunities.

The five-day program will include keynote and plenary talks, live Q&A opportunities with academic and industry leaders, application-based case studies, best practice reports, and discussion panels on technical and market trends. In addition, the event will feature 500 technical presentations, 11 industry-specific education courses, and in-person networking and social events.

“This year's annual meeting brings environmental awareness to the forefront of the tribology and lubrication engineering fields," said Edward P. Salek, CAE, STLE executive director. "Not only will attendees learn about emerging research from transformational leaders, but our technical sessions will empower them with the information they need to achieve sustainable change."

The Commercial Marketing Forum of STLE, which is a series of 30-minute marketing sessions, and exhibition will be open to visitors from May 22-24. The trade show will feature over 100 booths showcasing the latest products and services of interest to lubrication professionals worldwide, representing a full range of the industry’s most prestigious corporate, government, and academic institutions.

Angel Wileman, manager of Thermofluids for Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), will open the meeting with a keynote address on Monday, May 22, from 10:30 a.m.-noon that focuses on why hydrogen holds promise as a viable energy solution for global decarbonization. Her presentation, "Hydrogen is Here: Are You Ready?", will discuss the challenges facing hydrogen technology developers and provide the latest studies to address these challenges. The talk will also cover the development of cost-effective and efficient hydrogen production technologies, the challenges associated with hydrogen storage, transportation, and use, and current U.S. and worldwide regulations around hydrogen.

Attendees will also benefit from cutting-edge technical tracks on various key topics, including AI and machine learning, condition monitoring, EVs/engine and drivetrain, lubrication fundamentals, tribochemistry, synthetic lubricants, and hydraulics.

STLE's 77th Annual Meeting & Exhibition is an excellent opportunity for professionals to network with fellow lubrication experts, exchange ideas, and gain insights into the latest industry developments.
