ION Science’s MiniPID Sensors win prestigious award for innovation

Apr 26 2022

ION Science has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in the ‘innovation’ category, for its ground-breaking MiniPID sensors. The Queen’s Award is the highest recognition of business excellence across the UK and acknowledges the commercial achievements of ION Science’s pioneering technology. ION Science’s cutting-edge PID (photo-ionisation detection) technology provides unsurpassed VOC detection capabilities, to protect people and their environment.

This achievement is a reward for ION Science’s dedication and determination to discover and develop new life-saving technology and is a testament to the hard work that gave the MiniPID its exceptional levels of design, quality and reliability.

Before ION Science introduced the MiniPID sensor range, many VOC sensors had a short operational life, dubious levels of precision and reliability, and were unable to operate sufficiently in tough environmental conditions. However, the MiniPID sensor can withstand relative humidity up to 99% (non-condensing), temperatures of -40 to +65 °C, and thanks to its innovative anti-contamination design, the MiniPID range provides 10,000 hours of dependable and accurate detection, making it the perfect choice for long-term monitoring. The award-winning sensors offer the widest detection range on the market, from 0.5 parts per billion right up to 10,000 parts per million, so they are suitable for any application. ION Science offer sensors to detect more than 950 different compounds, many of which are highly dangerous human health and the environment.

MiniPID sensors are ubiquitous across the world in oil rigs, gas refineries, manufacturing plants, semiconductor factories, labs, nuclear facilities, air quality monitoring and many more locations.
