Fuel analysis
CFR Engines Inc. will participate in the Gulf Coast Conference this October, where the company will showcase a range of recent advancements in fuel testing instrumentation and methodology. With over nine decades of experience in establishing and supporting industry standards, CFR continues to play a key role in the certification and assessment of global fuel quality.
At this year’s event, CFR will showcase the IQT®-XLM, the newest model in the Ignition Quality Tester series. This device combines the features of previous IQT systems into a single compact unit and is recognised worldwide as a referee certification method within the EN 15940 paraffinic diesel specification. Simultaneously, CFR has developed and will introduce the IQT®-FLEX, a research version that allows for advanced testing customization in a research and development environment. The FLEX model can also be upgraded as software for existing IQT-XLM systems, enabling users to switch between standard certification testing and research modes as needed.
Other technologies on display will include the new F5 Cetane EFI Rating System, equipped with Electronic Fuel Injection that is capable of testing Middle Distillate fuel types, the Gravimetric Blending System (GBS), for precise blending of reference fuels with an accuracy of ±0.2%; the XCP® TECHNOLOGY software platform, which simplifies testing procedures; and the Continuous Testing System (CTS), enabling your Octane testing operation to function autonomously 24/7 by connecting one or more engines to your octane blending system. Also showcased is the Closed-Loop System, an innovative and sustainable solution for the precise management of engine intake air and auxiliary cooling and the Model E, a WI Instruments brand instrument for ethanol analysis and renewable fuel analytics with compact, powerful technology tailored for modern production environments. Plus, a demo crankcase will be on hand to give you a closer look at the inner workings of CFR engine systems.
CFR will also use the conference to highlight its new Training Academy in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Equipped with fully operational octane and cetane engines, the facility offers training in operation and maintenance, supporting CFR established global service and support network.
A series of related events is scheduled around the conference. On the evening of October 14, CFR will host a customer event at the Galveston Railroad Museum. Company staff will also participate in the Joint Regional Meeting, where topics will include business developments, octane research, software updates, and service issues. After the main exhibition, an XCP User Meeting will take place on October 17 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center, providing technical updates and opportunities for open discussion with CFR specialists.
CFR’s participation at the Gulf Coast Conference will give attendees a chance to review recent technical advances in cetane and octane measurement, along with ongoing efforts to support renewable and alternative fuel testing.
