Hyderabad Event Sets Standard for Indian Market

Dec 14 2009

The fifth analytica Anacon India closed its gates on October 1st after a highly successful event: 148 exhibitors from ten countries presented their products and innovations for the analysis, laboratory-technology and biotechnology sectors. 2,710 trade visitors demonstrated high interest in the latest measuring and analysis equipment as well as in innovations in the biotechnology sector. The analytica Anacon Conference was also a popular highlight. In keeping with this year’s theme, i.e. "Analytical Instrumentation: Technologies for a better quality of life", the conference focused on the latest findings for new environmental-analysis techniques, among other things.

"Constantly growing interest in analytica Anacon India among companies and visitors not only shows that this event has established itself in India as an information and business platform. It also demonstrates that the need for analysis and laboratory equipment in the industrial and scientific sectors has increased over the past few years," explains Klaus Dittrich, Managing Director at Messe München GmbH. As one of the largest centres for the pharmaceuticals industry, fine chemistry and biotechnology in India, Hyderabad was an ideal venue.

A total of 148 exhibitors (2007: 142 exhibitors) from China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States presented their innovations and latest developments to 2,710 trade visitors (2007: 3200). Most were executives from Indian laboratories, the majority of them managing directors and laboratory directors from the pharmaceuticals, fine-chemistry and biotechnology industries. There were also several representatives from universities as well as other research institutions.

"The analytica Anacon India 2009 show has been so professionally organised this year and is comparable in many respects to other international shows like Pittcon, JAIMA etc. except for the size”, says S. Thyagarajan Managing Director”, Spinco Biotech. “I am very confident that analytica Anacon India 2011 will be a much bigger and more successful show because of the changing economic situation in India. Even though the number of visitors this year was less due to bank holidays, those who attended were of high position in the respective industry and were decision-makers.” S. Imamichi, Managing Director at Shimadzu India, adds: “We are very happy with having participated in this year’s show. Due to budget constraints, we were forced to reduce the size of our booth this year. But we have already decided to have a bigger booth at analytica Anacon India 2011.
Over the years analytica Anacon India has undoubtedly become a benchmark for any show on laboratory instrumentation.”

"We are pleased to have a German Pavilion again at this year’s analytica Anacon India. A total of 16 innovative companies from Germany participated in this year’s joint exhibit. With new products and solutions from the sectors for analysis and laboratory technology, chromatography and spectroscopy, participating companies such as KNF Neuberger, Netzsch Gerätebau, SERVA Electrophoresis and witeg Labortechnik convinced Indian visitors of the innovative strengths that Germany has to offer," summarised Kurt Schraudy, Managing Director of IMAG.

The analytica Anacon India Conference, which featured 20 presentations that were held on all three days of the fair, was also a highlight. Renowned scientists such as Dr. VL Ramprasad (Spinco Biotech), Dr. Martin Hornshaw (Thermo Fisher India and USA), Prof. Dr. B. Buszewski (University of Torum, Poland) and Dr. Zhan Zhaoqi (Shimadzu Asia Pacific) presented recent and future industry developments and introduced new solution approaches for the market. Dr. G. Ramakrishnan, President of the IAIA (Indian Analytical Instruments Association), summed up as follows: “I am very pleased about the large number and high quality of local and international exhibitors, which makes the exhibition an international trade fair. Furthermore, I am highly pleased with the results of the accompanying conference – high ranking national and international speakers made their presentations to an audience of approximately 150 delegates.
