Swiss MEMS sensor manufacturer and gas flow measurement and control instrumentation company Vögtlin Instruments AG announces the availability of a 3-contact alarm module with remote alarm reset for its red-y compact 2 series gas mass flow meter.

The economically priced red-y compact 2 thermal mass flow meter for gases has proven itself in the market for scientific gas flow measurements from 0-10 sccm up to 480 slpm. Initially released in 2001, the meter has been completely re-engineered to operate on one single AA battery for up to 6 months, a Micro-USB power supply, or via a 12- 30 Vdc power supply.

The new generation of thermal mass flow meters also features touch technology so that users can set more than 20 flow units and adjust nearly 50 variables through a convenient touch screen without connecting the unit to a computer.  Units can also be supplied with up to 3 different gases or gas mixtures and offer a dynamic range of up to 100 : 1 with accuracy of ±1% of full scale.

A new alarm module, which can be retrofitted to red-y compact 2 devices already in the field, features: 3 alarm contacts (relays that can switch up to 1 amp, 30 Vdc), 2 optical isolated input channels (to optionally reset an alarm remotely), every alarm contact separately settable as high, low, window or totaliser alarm, and customer configurable hysteresis, delay and alarm duration time.
