The Supelco® Watercol™ capillary GC column from Merck contains an innovative contains an innovative ionic liquid stationary phase that is stable against water, and produces a sharp peak shape for water. This allows the convenient, sensitive, and quantitative measurement of water by GC in various petrochemical products. The Watercol™ is also subject of the ASTM work item WK59649 "New Test Method for Determination of Water in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) using Gas Chromatography and Barrier Discharge Ionization Detection (BID)”.
