The new ERACHECK X oil-in-water analyser is eralytics’ first device designed around their new portable and easy-to-operate instrument platform.  ERACHECK X is made with a rugged aluminum housing with very compact dimensions, featuring a large colour touch screen and a cutting edge, in-built industry PC.

The new oil-in-water analyser is a high-end dual-beam non-dispersive IR spectrometer offering unsurpassed accuracy. It operates using cyclohexane, an inexpensive and environmentally friendly CFC-free solvent, and measures TOG, TPH, and FOG in water in total compliance with ASTM D8193 with sub-ppm precision, as well as US EPA 1664, ISO 9377, and OSPAR.

The simplified extraction procedure can be carried out in a few simple steps, this needs minimal glassware and easy cleaning. The fully automated measurement of the extract takes only 2 minutes and results are displayed on the large full-colour touch screen and can be exported via USB directly to a flash drive or PC for LIMS.

Unlike gravimetric methods, ASTM D8193 needs no evaporation of the solvent, doing away with the risk of light ends getting lost during the measurements. This precipitates a significantly higher level of precision (r = 0.25 mg/L) over a wide measuring range of 0 – 3000 mg/L.

In comparison to GC methods that do not detect fractions eluting outside the defined time window, ASTM D8193 demands that a more complete fraction of extracted hydrocarbons is measured, and this is much faster and easier.

This rugged and reliable instrument makes ERACHECK X the ideal solution for rapid, on-site compliance testing in harsh ambient conditions ubiquitous to oil drilling platforms and as a portable field analyser for wastewater professionals.
