Despite its compact size, eraspec X delivers analytical precision identical to that of traditional benchtop FTIR systems. It requires only 3ml of sample and delivers results in under 60 seconds. The measurement cell features 20 µm and 100 µm path lengths, as well as an automated reference cell, to ensure consistent optical performance for different fuel types. The system is fully factory-calibrated, minimizing the need for frequent recalibration and enabling immediate use in the field.

The instrument supports a wide range of fuel types and parameters and is the ideal choice for the quantification of aromatics like benzene (ASTM D6277 or EN238) and oxygenates (ASTM D5845) in gasoline or FAME in diesel (ASTM D7806 or EN14078). Optional modules extend the capability to analyse ethanol and methanol fuels, and to predict fuel properties like RON/MON and distillation points via advanced chemometric models.
