Reliable trace moisture measurements ensure process safety in natural gas and liquid hydrocarbon applications

31 Jul, 2025

BARTEC’s HYGROPHIL F 5674 has a proven track record for reliable trace moisture measurement in a variety of liquids and gases. Originally designed for the natural gas market, the HYGROPHIL F 5674 is furthermore used to measure trace moisture in liquid hydrocarbon process streams located in refineries and chemical plants.

The optical measuring principle based on a Fabry-Pérot Interferometer whereby the trace moisture content in the analyte changes the refractive index of an optical layer found on the tip of instrument’s sensor. The change in the light spectrum caused by the presence of moisture is then measured by a Spectrometer located within the analyser.

The multichannel HYGROPHIL F 5674 and its extremely rugged moisture sensors have been successfully used in gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon streams. The ATEX/IECEx, UL and IECEx certified instrument is equipped with several outputs like analogue outputs, Modbus RTU and TCP/IP for simple connection to the control system. In-line or on-line with sample conditioning systems – BARTEC offers many standardised and customised solutions for reliable process trace moisture measurement.
