BARTEC introduces the VISC-4, a process viscometer designed to optimize refining and blending processes in increasingly cost-sensitive markets. Precise, real-time viscosity measurement is key to reducing product giveaway and maximising yield of high-value outputs.

Unlike many online viscometers, the VISC-4 is based on the ASTM D445-compliant capillary principle, ensuring laboratory-level accuracy directly in the process stream—no data conversion needed. Its Dewar-insulated capillary design eliminates the need for oil baths while delivering exceptional thermal stability, essential for consistent and repeatable results.

The VISC-4’s adaptive thermal control, with four internal sensors, maintains isothermal conditions far beyond ASTM standards, surpassing repeatability (r) requirements by a factor of 10 or more. With a kinematic viscosity range up to 1000 cSt and measurement temperatures up to 135°C, it is ideal for a wide range of applications.
