AD Systems has announced the official inclusion of their highly advanced TO10 jet fuel thermal oxidation stability analyser in Table 1 of ASTM D3241. Version D3241-24 is available from the ASTM website.

A thorough equivalency study in 2023 revealed a perfect alignment (R2 0.9914) of thermal stability results using the TO10 with those provided by the legacy instrumentation used to develop this test method, as listed in Table 1.

The new TO10 was developed to enhance the precision of this vital test method. AD Systems carefully considered all the crucial test parameters and implemented cutting-edge engineering solutions to build their new analyser, reducing the probability of human error while improving precision and reliability.

Scientists at testing labs and refineries will appreciate TO10’s high precision and throughput for their routine analysis tasks, such as certifying jet fuels according to ASTM D1655, D7566, and other international specifications. This is an extremely user-friendly instrument with low maintenance requirements. The test procedure is entirely automated, from sample aeration to rapid cooling at the end of the measurement. This sophisticated analyser improves lab efficiency and productivity significantly – and there are no tiresome, special cleaning procedures necessary.

The versatile TO10 will help researchers develop the next Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF). The analyser covers a broad temperature range, and its unique, patented dual syringe pump is perfect for analysing unconventional samples with high levels of density and/or viscosity.

Connecting the ITR—DR10 reference tube rater (ASTM D3241 Annex A2) to the TO10 will automatically transfer the heater tube scan. A detailed ASTM D 3241 complaint report, including the deposit thickness profile, is then completed.
