The new PR21 process refractometer from A. Kruess Optronic (Germany) provides a simple and elegant method of analysis for the chemical and petroleum related industries.
The PR21 has a resolution of incredible 0.00001 RI units, allowing many applications which weren’t possible or only marginally acceptable before. The PR21 can control a proportionating pump or the relays of the transmitter unit may be used to simply open and close a valve adding dilution water. The use of a simple mounting flange with a shock absorber permits the refractometer to be mounted in the side of a mixing tank and control the concentration. A number of PR21 heads may
be installed up the height of the column to monitor the liquid in individual trays.
All the refractometer heads may be monitored simultaneously using a programmable logical controller.
The PR21 process refractometer offers users simple installation, simple measurement of refractive index related to concentration, purity and composition, automatic temperature compensation, no interference from suspended solids, bubbles or colour and output signals for process control.
