Two new events have been added to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) itinerary of personal safety meetings for oil industry workers.

Due to take place on October 4th-5th 2011 in Stavanger, the International Regulators Forum (IRF) Summit Conference represents a one-off opportunity to address personal safety issues that have arisen in recent months.

"In the wake of the recent disasters that have struck the petroleum industry, the IRF is organising an extraordinary safety Summit Conference," the HSE says.

The organisation adds: "HSE is chairing the programme committee and is currently preparing a detailed conference programme."

Meanwhile, on March 10th 2011, the Forest Pines hotel and golf course in Broughton, near Scunthorpe, plays host to the Workforce Involvement Event.

Run by the HSE Workforce Involvement Group, this meeting is to address offshore personal safety in the oil industry, as well as delivering additional training proposed for safety representatives in attendance.
