Real-Time Analyzers’ (USA) Portable Fuel Analyser has been designed specifically for operation in demanding environments, such as refineries, pipelines, ports, tarmac and even military operations. It is lightweight and contains a 5-hour, rechargeable battery. The Portable Fuel Analyser can determine if a liquid is a fuel, what type it is and 15 other fuel properties in less than 3 minutes with the simple press of a button. Such an analysis traditionally requires a fully equipped laboratory, highly trained technicians, and at least 5 hours.

Operation is simple; in 3 minutes the fuel is identified, and the property data is displayed. The Portable Fuel Analyser uses the latest in chemical analysis technology (Raman spectroscopy) to identify a liquid, and if it is a fuel, determine its properties from its measured chemical composition. These properties include; cloud point, distillation (IBP, 20, 50, 90 & FBP), flash point, freeze point, pour point, cetane index, density, lubricity, viscosity, acid number, aromatics, olefins, saturates, sulphur, and water. The Portable Fuel Analyser can also identify numerous contaminants, including biodiesel.

Real-Time Analyzers also offers lab and process versions of the Portable Fuel Analyser with the same analytical capabilities. The process system is ideal for continuous monitoring and control of refinery processes, such as distillation and blending operations.
