Global Product Manager Ed Ligus says the company has focused primarily on products like gas detection tubes and gas sampling bags to exploit our expertise in these products.

“Tubes are most commonly used to take measurements in the workplace for employee exposures, process control gas checks, hazmat response and compressed breathing air,” says Ligus, adding that typically these tubes are used for on-the-spot measurements when you know what to expect, or in hazmat situations to narrow down the possibilities quickly.

“Gas sampling bags are used to collect samples from gas wells, process lines, even pressurized cylinders to name a few, then a detector tube may be used to sample the gas in the bag, but more often to collect a sample to be sent to a lab to be analyzed using laboratory equipment.”

Uniphos specialises in both of these products and is actually the only gas manufacturer to offer two lines of gas detection tubes: the 5 mm Uniphos tubes and the 7 mm KwikDraw tubes. The Uniphos gas detection tubes work with a piston style pump while the KwikDraw tubes are used with a bellows pump.
