New, rugged, lightweight moisture analyser delivers reliable and accurate water vapour measurement in natural gas

AMETEK Process Instruments has extended its line of 5100 series gas analysers to include a transportable version. The 5100P, based on tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), is a durable, lightweight natural gas analyser designed to for use in remote locations or to verify fixed analyser installations. The battery-powered device provides at least 8 hours of use before requiring a recharge, and its lightweight package simplifies transportation between locations.
With an integrated sample system, the 5100P is simple and easy to use. A measurement can be made in minutes - just connect the sample tubing, power up the analyser, and start the flow through the system. The TDLAS technology in the 5100P delivers immediate response to changes in the moisture content of the natural gas. Users no longer need to wait hours for the sensor to equilibrate and can make more measurements in less time. The 5100P is Class 1 Div 2 and ATEX/IECEX Zone 2 certified for use in hazardous areas, so there are no costly enclosures or hot work permits needed to operate the analyser.
