Nowadays, there are many possibilities for continuous monitoring of level. However, most of the measuring technologies are limited when it comes to challenging requirements and extreme process conditions. In those cases one measuring technique stands out from the others – the radiometric technology.

Radiometric level measurements are based on the principle of transmission. Working in a non-contacting way, the equipment does not have to be installed inside the vessel; the emitter and receiver are mounted on the external wall. Neither high temperatures, nor dust, pressure or chemical properties of the material have an impact on the measuring performance. Even abrasion caused by bulk materials is negligible. Those systems are maintenance-free and offer a remarkably long operation lifetime.

For more than 50 years, Berthold Technologies (Germany) has been specializing in this measuring technology and the product range of the company contains plenty of measuring solutions for continuous level measurements. From rod sources to rod detectors – depending on the customer’s requirements and applications, the optimum measuring solution is chosen and dimensioned corresponding to the individual situation. As a matter of course, Berthold Technologies also provide a collateral support in administrative matters, product-related workshops and start-ups of their instruments.
