Potentiometric titration is a well-established method for the determination of Total Acid Number (TAN) in petrochemical products such as crude oil, waxes and heavy marine fuels. Traditional methodologies, including ASTM D664 and IP177, are seen as slow and complex, and are increasingly being replaced by the new thermometric titration method ASTM D8045.

METTLER TOLEDO's seminar 'Petrochemical Testing: Trends and Developments' explores these new methodologies. Keynote speaker and Chairman of the ASTM sub-committee D.02, Tore Fossum, will discuss:

  • Acid Number ASTM D664, IP177 and Acid Number Thermometric D8045
  • Base Number to ASTM D2896, D4739 and IP400
  • Mercaptans and Sulfides to ASTM D3227 and UOP 163

During the day you will also have many opportunities to gain tips, hints and troubleshooting advice with an interactive question and answer session.

Choose from one of two seminars taking place in May 2017 at the Wilton Centre, Redcar and Intertek, Aberdeen.
