AppliTek (Belgium), specialist manufacturer of on-line analysers and monitoring systems, has presented successfully a selection its product portfolio at Offshore Europe 2009, Aberdeen, Scotland. Having already set foot in several refineries, AppliTek wanted to investigate the feasibility of their analytical solutions on a specific set of offshore applications, such as moisture monitoring in sour gas, sulphate content in waterflood injection and on-line monitoring of discharge compliance.
AppliTek has a firm reputation in on-line monitoring for refinery/blending applications. Recently AppliTek was involved in the implementation of the first on-line Raman analyser system in Europe for monitoring component streams in a refinery. The company was involved in the feasibility study, the development of the chemometric models, and the on-site commissioning of the whole system. The whole analyser system, including multiplexing unit, is Zone 0 certified under the EU ATEX Directive 94/9/EC for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Raman seems to be a prodigious technology for on-line monitoring purposes and already backed up AppliTek’s expertise expertise for refineries: petroleum applications, acid alkylation applications, amine acid gas applications and specific low level applications.
AppliTek thanks its customers and visitors for having visited their booth at OE 2009 and having discussed their needs. They also received on this occasion the new Applitek catalogue focusing on on-line liquid monitoring, both for environmental as well as industrial applications.
