Process and instrument engineers who visit the McCrometer’s (USA) Booth 2434 at ISA Expo, taking place in Houston from October 6th - 8th, will be offered the opportunity to complete a free Flow Meter Evaluation and Cost-of-Ownership Analysis for their process and plant applications.

McCrometer will exhibit its space-saver,/weightsaver V-Cone® Flow Meter and highly scalable Wafer-Cone® Flow Meter, which both feature advanced differential pressure technology. The exhibit will include demo meter models and video flow measurement technology presentations. Visitors will learn the advantages of McCrometer’s advanced flow technologies, which require only 0-3 upstream and 0-1 downstream straight pipe lengths to save installation space / weight while offering accurate measurement, low main-tenance and long life at far less cost.

The V-Cone Flow Meter relies on proven differential pressure (DP) flow measurement technology with builtin flow conditioning that reduces the upstream / downstream straight pipe run required by Orifice Plates and Venturi Tubes by up to 70 percent. This significant reduction in pipe requirements adds up to cost savings in materials and installation labor for process and plant applications.

With a unique self-conditioning design, the V-Cone provides an exceptionally stable flow profile with accuracy of ± 0.5% of actual flow and repeatability of +/- 0.1% over the entire range. The V-Cone is ideal for the measurement of liquid, steam and gas and supports line sizes from 0.5 to 120 inches, with an unmatched 10:1 turndown ratio for wide range-ability. A no-moving-parts design means that the V-Cone provides engineers with an extremely low cost-of ownership, as it requires virtually no maintenance over an unprecedented long life (typically exceeding 25 years). The V-Cone also features low permanent head loss, reducing ownership

costs by minimising energy requirements.

Engineers with small line size processes rely on the versatile Wafer-Cone Flow Meter for superior accuracy and repeatability for gas measurement in process and plant operations. Its advanced DP technology and builtin

flow conditioning also eliminate the need for extensive up/down stream straight pipe runs required by Orifice Plates and Venturi Tubes. It can be installed virtually anywhere in a piping system or be easily retrofit into an existing piping layout, resulting in significant installation flexibility and in new installation initial cost savings.

The Wafer-Cone Flow Meter operates over a turndown range of 10:1. It is designed for service in small process line sizes from 1 to 6 inches, which makes it ideal for a wide range of industrial applications, such as

conventional natural gas wells, chemical refining, as well as industrial waste treatment and even landfill applications where biogas is frequently present and may be utilised for electric power co-generation purposes.
