Krohne (Germany) introduces the Optimass 2000, a large diameter Coriolis mass flowmeter for accurate and repeatable bulk measurement in the oil industry. Using the tried and tested twin straight tube design of the Optimass 1000, the product range has been extended with the Optimass 2000 to provide accurate measurement for the bulk fluids market.
Available in three sizes, 4 inch, 6 inch and 10 inch, OPTIMASS 2000 wetted parts are constructed of NACE compliant duplex stainless steel (ANS 31803) and the meter is available with flange ratings up to 1500 lbs, and flange sizes from 4 inch to 12 inch.
The Optimass 2000 is CRN approved and can handle process pressures to 2200 PSIG (150 bar) with a stainless steel outer cylinder that can handle burst pressures in excess of 1500 PSI (100 bar). Flow rates ranging from 250 lb/min (7000 Kg/h) to 4400 lb/min (1,2000,000 Kg/h) are easily handled by the Optimass 2000 with a measuring accuracy of 0.1% One major benefit for the oil and gas industry is the low flow rate feature of the Optimass 2000. A lower rate of flow prevents the build-up of static in hydrocarbons without affecting measurement
accuracy. The low flow rate capability is also a benefit for custody transfer applications. The Optimass 2000 features the MFC300 converter and is available in a compact or remote version. All signal processing is carried out by the MFC300 which converts the meter output to a MODBUS RTU communications signal. The âsplit architectureâ of the MFC300 secures all calibration data in redundant memory. The meter can also be supplied with DDC (Direct Digital Communications) where the application doesnât require a converter.
