KROHNE, Inc. (USA) will showcase a wide range of their industry-leading flow measurement products at the Marcellus-Utica Midstream Conference & Exhibition, to be held January 29-31, 2013, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Booth 530.

On display at the booth will be the ALTOSONIC V12 ultrasonic gas flow meter, the Summit 8800 Flow Computer, and the newly enhanced WATERFLUX 3070 battery-operated water meter. Also to be highlighted is the new clamp-on ultrasonic OPTISONIC 6300 ultrasonic flow meter, and the OPTIFLUX electromagnetic flowmeter line.

The ALTOSONIC V12, the next generation of ultrasonic gas flow meters for custody transfer applications, is the ideal solution for increasingly accurate flow meters in a world of increasing energy prices. With 12 measuring chords, two of which are dedicated exclusively to diagnostic functions, the ALTOSONIC V12 continuously checks operating status. The diagnostics in the ALTOSONIC V12 can reliably assess deposits, contamination or changes in wall roughness, so maintenance schedules meet actual needs. The positioning of the chords in five horizontal parallel planes compensates for swirl, providing reliable measurements, even with highly distorted flow profiles.

The accurate and cost effective Summit 8800 Flow Computer brings flow computing into the communication age, with a touch screen graphic display, scroll and click menu navigation, and multicolour traffic-light guidance. Ideal for oil and gas industry metering, the Summit 8800 can be used with any type of meter. The Summit 8800 also facilitates virtual flow metering for allocation metering and remote locations.

KROHNE’s new battery-operated WATERFLUX 3070 water meter can be installed in very narrow wells and chambers, thanks to extremely short inlet and outlet installation requirements. It is highly accurate and stable, while also featuring a lower pressure drop than comparable mechanical water meters. For large diameters, the WATERFLUX 3070 has a significant price advantage compared to the lifetime cost of mechanical meters, which often require filters and rectifiers as well as significantly more maintenance and cleaning. Recent enhancements include a 15 year battery life, which makes the WATERFLUX 3070 ideally suited to applications where no power is available. The device now comes with an optional GSM module for remote transmission of measurement data and status information.

The newly upgraded OPTISONIC 6300 ultrasonic flow meter features improved measurement accuracy, ATEX Approval, an extended temperature range, and the ability to handle smaller line sizes. The OPTISONIC 6300 also includes numerous features to aid installation and enhance product operations. The unique new integrated display shows real-time signal quality during calibration of the signal transducer, allowing engineers to optimise flowmeter performance and maximise measurement accuracy.

Also on display will be KROHNE’s new range of OPTIFLUX electromagnetic flowmeters, the widest and most accurate magmeters available in the industry. With just one signal converter that fits numerous flow sensors, the OPTIFLUX is ideal for all applications, from simple water measurement to corrosive or abrasive products. Streamlined engineering, procurement, and inventory results in real cost savings. This new concept marks a new era, and is the result of KROHNE’s more than 40 years’ experience in electromagnetic flowmetering.
