Young Calibrationsflow calibration rigs, utilising primary standard and series transfer reference meters, conduct flow calibration services for hydrocarbon flowmeters to 700 l/min, water meter flow calibrations to 4000 l/min and volume batch and injection flow rate calibrations down to 1 g/hour. The facility holds ISO 17025:2017 UKAS accreditation for flowmeters up to 1000 l/min on water and 440 l/min on oil.

The hydraulic systems laboratory handles all types of meters, including turbine, helical, coriolis, positive displacement, wedge, ultrasonic and V-Cone style flowmeters across 0.5 to 440 l/min. Hydrocarbon flow calibrations are completed on mineral oil at varied viscosities from 5 to 20 cSt on a small loop rig with reference standard positive displacement meters and gravimetric diverter with a measurement uncertainty of 0.4%. Water flowmeter calibrations are completed on reference meters and/or gravimetric time principle with a best measurement uncertainty of 0.1%.

Young’s bespoke calibration services traceable to national standards are available for customer oils, solvents and gases that are in a single-phase state. Gas flow calibrations up to 4500 m3/hr are available on pipeline sizes up to 300 mm diameter at a measurement uncertainty of 0.7%.
