Compact Pressure Switch for ATEX Environments

Dec 10 2014

A new range of compact pressure switches from Delta Controls (UK) has been designed for panel mounting applications where space is at a premium. Developed for use in the offshore oil and gas industry, the CS Series are also suitable for any application where space is limited and performance cannot be compromised.

The switches offer better than 1% set-point repeatability, have hermetically sealed SPDT or DPDT switch contacts and an all 316 stainless steel construction, complying with NACE standards and making them suitable for all corrosive environments.

Their cylindrical shape enables them to be closely mounted in dense matrix configurations, in locations such as wellhead control panels, hydraulic power units and chemical injection skids.

They are available for use in hazardous areas, being ATEX and IECEx certified for use in Zone 0 and 1 (gas) and Zone 21 (dust) explosive atmospheres. North American certification is planned for early 2015.

The CS Series continues Delta's strategy of developing products based on the well-established technologies of the company's previous ranges, and offering the same high levels of quality and performance, but aimed at a more cost-conscious market.

The new series has been designed to replace Delta's highly successful GR range which has served the industry for over 25 years. While the GR will continue to be available, the CS is now the product of choice for these applications.
