GE Analytical Instruments (USA), a division of GE Water & Process Technologies, manufactures Leakwise Oil-on-Water Detection and Monitoring Systems for hydrocarbon tank storage applications.
Leakwise offers a variety of system configurations consisting of a processor and detectors for wet and dry environments.

Installation of detectors in sensitive locations like storm water sumps, retention tanks, ground water, or at the outlet of a floating tank roof, provides on-line monitoring 24/7. Leakwise Oil Sheen Detectorsmay be installed in unmanned remote locations where power and communication lines are seldomavailable. In such cases power can be supplied with the Leakwise solar packs, and communication can bemade via modem through PTP, GSM or satellite communication. When an oil sheen is detected, an alarm is triggered that can even be used to turn off pumps or close
discharge valves. This low-maintenance monitoring alternative alerts users of a tank leak before it becomes a costly spill.
