When analysing Total Organic Carbon (TOC), some of the most troublesome matrixes are associated with industrial waste, specifically influent and effluent streams. GE Analytical Instruments (USA) new Sievers InnovOx Laboratory TOC Analyser is capable of analysing samples with a TOC concentration of 0.5 ppm up to 50,000 ppm with no user dilution necessary. The InnovOx can also accurately analyse industrial wastewater regardless of the complex sample matrix or non-contributing impurities, such as brine.

The InnovOx uses an innovative Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) technique that makes difficult sample matrixes a non-issue for long-term reliable performance. Unlike combustion techniques, the SCWO process completely removes all breakdown products from the sample flow path between sample runs.
