State of the art laser technology measures oil in water in compliance with ASTM D 7678

Since 2008, QuantaRed Technologies has dedicated itself to develop analytical instruments for liquid sensing based on patented, state-of-the-art Quantum Cascade Laser technology. Today, QuantaRed Technologies proudly present their brand new EcoSpec® Oil-in-Water analyser which will measure oil-in-water in full compliance with the internationally established ASTM standard test method D7678.

The EcoSpec® is designed to quantify hydrocarbons in water or soil using eco-friendly, CFC-free solvents. Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) or total oil and grease (TOG) are quantified in the sub-ppm range within minutes. Compared to conventional IR-technologies, Quantum Cascade Lasers generate a significantly higher optical output power. This allows the EcoSpec® to achieve unmatched repeatability (0.05 mg/L standard deviation below 10 mg/L) and a method detection limit of only 0.1 mg/L. In total, the EcoSpec® covers an extensive measurement range from 0.1 to 2000 mg/L. QuantaRed Technologies offers ready-made LiquiSpec® TPH and TOG cartridges, that simplify and standardise sample clean-up steps to ensure highest reproducibility between users. An optionally available ten-port autosampler allows an even higher sample throughput.

With that, the eco-friendly EcoSpec® analyser will enable its users to establish benchmark process control and environmental monitoring at unrivalled precision. The fully automated measurement procedure ensures that laboratories can follow ASTM D7678 straight out-of-the-box.
