New Easy-to-use LIMS Solutions to Simplify Product Quality Analysis in the Petrochemical Industry
Oct 16 2008
âThis Labworks solution integrates with our chromatography, inorganic and materials characteri-zation instruments to build on our EcoAnalytix⢠initiative that provides comprehensive application-focused solutions,â said Richard Begley, Ph.D., president, Analytical Sciences, PerkinElmer. âWe have worked with customers in each of these industries
to develop targeted solutions that reduce the cycle time for delivering quality results to their data consumers.â
âLabworks processLIMS was created in response to our customersâ need to get up and running quickly while ensuring global compatibility and delivering critical results to decision makers in real time, production environments,â said Donna Lococo, Labworks product manager, PerkinElmer.
âIn a continuous process environment, decisions need to be made quickly, and LIMS need to be responsive,â Lococo noted. âThis system accommodates both scheduled and unscheduled sampling events, and exports results as soon as they are available.â Labworks processLIMS interfaces with laboratory instrumentation as well as with the Plant Information Management System (PIMS) to provide more complete quality information throughout the manufacturing facility.
A LIMS creates efficiency by automating the process of collecting and consolidating results from a variety of laboratory instruments. Once all necessary results have been collected, the system performs calculations and generates any necessary reports or Certificates of Analysis. Labworks processLIMS also includes a specialized user interface that provides continuous updates on product sample status and quality results for non-laboratory personnel.
Labworks processLIMS fully integrates with PerkinElmer instrumentation and interfaces with most analytical instrumentation found in petrochemical laboratories. To support petrochemical laboratories, Labworks processLIMS also includes a basic service package with installation and training and can be enhanced with additional applications and services to meet the individual laboratoryâs needs.
