Nanalysis Corp. develops and manufactures benchtop Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers aimed at expanding the use of NMR spectroscopy into qualitative and quantitative applications previously unexplored by NMR technology. This includes applications ranging from pharmaceuticals to materials to petrochemical analysis. Despite proven efficacy in determining key metrics in crudes, fuels and additives, the potential of a compact, robust and automatable NMR analyser has been underutilised in the petrochemical industry.

Nanalysis has collaborated with Saras Richerche e Tecnologie S.r.l. (Sartec) since 2017 to improve refiniery efficiency and productivity while simultaneously addressing data integrity and availability concerns. The goal was to develop process analytical solutions, specifically an automated NMR analyser aimed at accelerating crude and residue. Dr. Sassu, Innovation and Digital Solutions Manager of Sartec stated “…Several years ago we recognised that NMR could be a critical analytical technique to bring oil refineries into the digital age, but the problem was that this type of technology was too large, expensive and complex for oil refineries….with the advent of compact NMR hardware, our machine learning and AI algorithms can come to life in a variety of applications.  We are committed to delivering fully integrated solutions to the energy industry in partnership with Nanalysis”.
