Detailed Sulphur components, Arsine and Phosphine are traditionally analysed by GC methods using selective and sensitive detectors like FPD, PFPD and SCD. GCMS is less often used but offers evident advantages. Excellent linearity is demonstrated for volatile sulphur components starting as low as 1 ppb (see the illustration: 4 ppb H2S and 2 ppb COS). For Arsine and Phosphine limits of detection below 10 ppb are shown. The use of Quadrupole MS detection provides positive identification for other components as well like Oxygenates at low ppb level in various matrices.
