Bureau Veritas Kenya assumes control of Yana Oil Limited's Nairobi laboratory

Bureau Veritas a leader in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry, announces its acquisition of operational and managerial responsibilities for Yana Oil Limited's lubricating oil blending plant in Nairobi, effective March 1, 2024.

Established in 2020, Yana Oil specialises in manufacturing lubricants for automotive and industrial applications, including engine oils and coolants, catering to major players in the market. The company's Lube Oil Blending Plant (LOBP) in Nairobi boasts a total annual capacity of 20 million litres.

Bertrand Martin, Senior Vice President of Bureau Veritas Africa, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "Bureau Veritas brings a wealth of experience in testing, inspection, and certification to this collaboration. We see this as a significant advancement in our support for Oil & Petrochemical clients in East Africa. By leveraging our technology, expertise, and experience, we aim to deliver exceptional regulatory support and quality assurance to our clients."

Cyprian Kabbis, District Chief Executive of Bureau Veritas East Africa, emphasised the commitment to raising industry standards through the operation of Yana Oil's Lubricants Laboratory. "Our goal is to ensure that all products meet stringent quality requirements. This partnership allows us to showcase our technical capabilities and provide precise results to key industry players," Kabbis added.

Kamran Kangari, CEO of Yana Oil Limited, expressed excitement about the collaboration with Bureau Veritas, highlighting the potential for enhanced operations and added value for customers. "We look forward to benefiting from Bureau Veritas' extensive experience and capabilities," Kangari remarked.

This announcement underscores Bureau Veritas' dedication to supporting clients in addressing safety, quality, and sustainability challenges within the oil and petrochemical industry.
