After introduction of our fully digital 2 channel EPC two years ago, the D2EPC-1 has very successfully been deployed in numerous GCs and analyser designs. Due to this success Applied Instruments (The Netherlands) keeps introducing new derivatives of the D2EPC-1 product for various applications.

One very important trend we see with many of our customers is that they can have a more stable and more accurate controller while cutting the overall cost to control flows and pressures in their instruments by up to 50%. This has led to the development of a special 1-channel version of the D2EPC-1 product that can be used as a drop-in replacement of many MFC units that are still used in GCs and other analysers. This SFO derivative has all the high-performance characteristics of our successful EPC product line but instead of having a second channel it offers builtin output pressure compensation and ambient pressure compensation so that it can be used in virtually all MFC applications. With our D2EPC-1 SFO you will be getting a far more stable and faster controller at a fraction of the cost of a typical MFC.

Different gas tubing connection sizes and standards are available. Different versions of the restriction plugs allow for connecting the product to the connection standard and sizes as used in the instrument in which the D2EPC-1 will be integrated. Currently available are 1/8” and 1/16” in Swagelok® and Valco® versions. Special connection types can be made available upon request. Also the product requires only one supply voltage.

The design of the D2EPC-1 requires only a 26 x 77 mm mounting face for this 2-channel EPC. D2EPC-1 units can be mounted next to each other at a 26mm pitch, including mounting bracket. This allows for a very compact flow arrangement when a large number of controlled flows and/or pressures are required.
