A2 Technologies LLC (USA) has developed portable Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectrometers, for the analysis of on-site lubrication.
The PAL Series (Portable Analysers for Lubrication) are designed to provide actionable information on the condition of the lubricant in an easy to understand format. In one minute the PAL Series can yield the level of water in a lubricant, the amount of oxidation and nitration by -products that have formed, and the amount of anti-wear, anti-oxidation, and extreme pressure additives that remain in the lubricant. The PAL Series takes the technology of FTIR out of the traditional laboratory and puts into it into the field to allow personnel to make rapid, reliable decisions on the performance of high value equipment.
