Flow Level Pressure
Low Space Requirement Flow Meter
Dec 26 2012
The robust oval gear flow meter from the DOM series of industrial measuring technology manufacturer KOBOLD Messring GmbH (Germany), is optimally designed for recording viscous fluids. It is used to monitor or dose lubricants, pastes, or oils, as well as record water, various chemicals, and even fuel. It covers a viscosity range of 0 to 1000 cP as standard. Through an appropriate conversion or the use of special cut rotors, the measuring devices can even be employed for media with viscosities of up to 1,000,000 cP.
High-quality ceramic or hardened steel bearings and the contact-free recording of rotations via magnets in the rotors means that there is virtually no wear. Stainless steel or aluminium can be selected for the housing and rotors. Due to the high repetition accuracy of ± 0.03%, the DOM flow meter is ideally suited to dosing. As no straight inlet pipes are required, there is an extremely low space requirement.
A multitude of designs and combinations means that there is a device to meet a wide range of industrial measurement tasks. There are 12 measuring ranges available; from 0.5–36 l/h through to 150–2500 l/h. Industry standard threads or flanges can be used for installation in pipes. Devices with stainless steel housing can withstand pressures of up to 400 bar in the high-pressure version. Versions for media temperatures of up to 120°C are also available.
Four electronic systems provide perfected solutions for a host of different measurement tasks. Mechanical total counters and reset day counters are available, as are various pulse outputs through to the output with two hall sensors, which is suited to custody transfer applications.
