Large changes in density create challenges for accurate in-line BS&W measurement on many of today’s truck unloading and LACT sites. If a BS&W meter can’t compensate for these changes, loads are falsely alarmed as having high water or the units fail to function. But, KAM®’s LRW™ Low Range Watercut meter offers a key advantage over traditional capacitance probes. Using a patented microwave technology, the LRW offers AnyDensity™ automatic density correction technology. Taking a density input from a mass flow meter or densitometer, the unit automatically compensates for any change of density across the entire range of API gravity without a requirement for an outside controller or costly add-ons. In addition, the unit will maintain its industry leading accuracy of 0.03% up to 3% water. So operators can be confident that high-water loads will be accurately flagged whether they are crude or condensate.

With 2” antennas, microwave technology also allows for a very compact form factor. Units can be installed through a 1.25” port in lines up to 8” – no spool or top-down installation required. This makes for smaller, safer, and cheaper skids.
