For rapid and precise determination of liquids and gases, particularly in the trace range, the use of vertical systems has become standard. With the increase in complexity and viscosity of samples, however, it is necessary to use the horizontal mode. The multi EA 5000, from Analytic Jena (Germany), combines both modes in one and the same device. The double furnace can be quickly set up vertically or horizontally. The use of only one multi-purpose combustion tube for all standard applications makes conversion child’s play. Therefore the multi EA 5000 perfectly meets the requirements of determination of sulphur in products from the refinement process, such as mineral oil, gases, fuels, heavy oil, bitumen, coke etc.
