Oil quality monitors for hazardous locations (Class 1 Division 2) showcased at OilDoc 2023

Jun 21 2023

Poseidon Systems’ Trident QM3150 and QW3150 Oil Quality Monitors, which are designed for use in hazardous locations, specifically classified as Class 1 Division 2 were showcased recently at the OilDoc exhibition and conference in Rosenheim, Germany. These devices use state-of-the-art real-time, in-line sensing technology to provide continuous insight into the health state of lubricating fluids. By utilising advanced electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technology, this monitor precisely measures a fluid's impedance spectrum, enabling a comprehensive assessment of the lubricant's additive package health, breakdown monitoring and contaminant identification.

A key feature of the Trident QM3150 is its integrated water-in-oil sensor. This sensor performs a direct measurement of dissolved water content in the lubricant, providing crucial information for preventive maintenance strategies.

By harnessing the power of real-time information, the Trident QM3150 and QW3150 assist organisations in improving their asset health management strategies. Precise data on oil health means that maintenance decisions can now be made with confidence. Optimised fluid drain intervals, reduced dependence on offline analysis, improved asset health state awareness, contamination event identification, and verification of proper lubrication system maintenance are just a few benefits operators will gain from these versatile and precise oil quality monitors.

In addition to their advanced capabilities, the QM3150 and QW3150 both comply with CAN-J1939 standards and are RS485 Modbus RTU compatible, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.  Providing end users with compact design and easy installation, these monitors are suitable for analysing all types of oil, making them versatile the perfect solution for a wide range of applications.
