Elemental analysis
Elemental analysis for the petrochemical industry
Feb 21 2019
The Rigaku Supermini200 benchtop wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectrometer offers enhanced performance and flexibility for XRF analysis of petrochemical products and materials. Multiple element measurements on the full spectrum of fuels, lubricants, specialty chemicals, and catalysts are possible in a compact, rugged XRF analysis platform.
Elemental analysis is among the most important fundamental measurements made petrochemical companies for product quality control, R&D, and environmental safety. Unlike ICP and AA elemental analysis by XRF requires no chemical preparation step, making sample preparation and cleanup much simpler.
The Rigaku Supermini 200 offers the advanced analysis capabilities of traditionally larger, more expensive WDXRF instruments in a high-resolution benchtop analyser. The high powered, 200 W x-ray source, and flexible crystal configurations enable analysis of oxygen (O) through uranium (U). Low cost-of-ownership with high resolution and lower limits-of-detection make it ideal as either a primary or backup system for time-critical process control measurements
User-friendly software with operational modes for both novice and expert operators optimises analyser usage and improves throughput. A single interface contains comprehensive information about the status of samples, data measurement and analysis parameters, and all Supermini200 systems are available with both EZScan™ and EZAnalysis™. The EZ Scan software module enables analysis of unknown samples with no prior setup and with only a few clicks of the mouse to get started. EZ Analysis is a software feature that simplifies every day, routine operation.
With a size that is 25% that of traditional WDXRF units, the Supermini200 is offered at a price that is approximately half that of floor-standing units. Designed to offer performance and value in a compact package, it is positioned to be the perfect analyser for labs replacing older WDXRF units or for use as a backup WDXRF system for ultimate redundancy.
