Automatic Abel Flash Point Tester with Extended Measuring Range
Apr 01 2009
The ABA flashpoint tester from Petrotest (Germany) covers a measuring range from -30 oC to +110 oC (depending on product version and measuring method) and is especially suitable for measuring harzardous substances. In addition to the non-equilibrium methods, applying the equilibrium method allows to determine the closed-cup flash/no flash temperature of paints, varnishes, paint binders, solvents, adhesives, petroleum and related products.
The system is available in different versions. The economical standard version has an operating span from +10 oC to +110 oC. No cooling water is required thanks to its integrated fan cooled Peltier elements. For low temperatures with an operating span from -30 oC up to+110 oC, only tap water or a small coolant circulator is required. Equipped with both gas flame and electric igniter, the automatic Abel flash point tester is easy to operate: Having inserted the filled test cup and shifted the multi-function head into its test position, all electrical connections and the coupling of the stirring motor are carried out automatically. In addition, the ABA features automatic barometric pressure correction.
