Mid FTIR spectrometer pushes density limits and is now available with unique ultra-light  ASTM D4052 density meter module

Nov 19 2019

It’s all about pushing a button: For years, ERASPEC has been the leading mid FTIR spectrometer for fully automated multi-fuel analysis. No matter if it’s gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel or biodiesel/FAME – ERASPEC delivers a comprehensive fingerprint of your sample just within 60 seconds. As a portable stand-alone instrument, it can be used in the laboratory, inside mobile labs and in the field.

With eralytics’ latest innovation, the state-of-the-art temperature controlled U-tube density meter module DENS4052 (patent pending), ERASPEC is again expanding the horizon of portable fuel testing. In combination with this integrated ultra-light density meter module DENS4052, offering density measurements in full compliance with ASTM D4052 & ISO 12185 (r = 0.0001 g/cm3), ERASPEC can measure density, benzene and FAME in full compliance with international fuel specifications, like ASTM D4814, EN228 and EN590. In its standard version ERASPEC is now equipped with eralytics new DENS7777 U-tube density module that is also temperature controlled and measures in full compliance with ASTM D7777 & ISO 15212 (r = 0.0005 g/cm3).

With these new temperature controlled density meter modules ERASPEC delivers even more accurate results for most important fuel parameters. Only by pushing a button, ERASPEC delivers over 100 fuel parameters such as benzene, oxygenates and aromatics or even complex properties like octane and cetane numbers and distillation properties within a few seconds. ERASPEC analyzes also 0-100 Vol% Biodiesel/FAME and vegetable oil in diesel fuel in full compliance with ASTM D7806 and EN14078. The measurement procedure doesn’t require any consumables.

The AFR Automatic Fuel Recognition Module allows the measurement of unknown samples whether it is gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and starts automatically the correct analysis. For measuring large numbers of samples ERASPEC can be equipped with eralytics unique 10-position autosampler directly attached to the analyser. Results are stored in the internal memory and can be conveniently exported to a USB-drive, printed and transferred to a LIMS.

For the determination of complex fuel properties such as RON, MON and distillation points, ERASPEC is equipped with tailormade databases of international fuel calibration samples with known parameters. Adding customer samples to the databases is an easy task without the need of an external PC and the added data are immediately available for the next measurement. No complex and time-consuming recalculations are necessary.

Another great application of ERASPEC is the on-site identification of gasoline contamination. With the Gasoline Contamination Module, you can identify the most common contaminants of gasoline. The leading-edge multiple cell design guarantees the lowest possible limits of detection by automatically selecting the proper path length for the measurement. Among others governmental bodies use ERASPEC in mobile laboratories directly at the gas stations to test the fuel quality fighting fuel adulteration fraud.

The small footprint of the instrument with its rugged and portable design makes ERASPEC not only the perfect solution for laboratory applications, it also is the first choice for mobile fuel testing.
