Total Oil and Grease in Water – On-site & CFC-Free!
Apr 13 2010
Eralytics (Austria), proudly presents the Eracheck - the ultimate solution for the fast and easy measurement of sub-ppm concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons in water and soil. The innovative and patented QCL-IR (Quantum Cascade Laser Infra-Red) measuring technology finally allows the CFC-free testing of TPH in water samples.
A quick and easy field analysis method for determining oil and grease concentration levels is important for offshore oil platforms, refineries and oil depots. With the manufacture of Freon 113 banned by the Montreal Protocol, older ASTM methods like ASTM D 3921 that used infrared analysis and Freon as the extraction solvent had to be replaced.
The Eracheck uses a very similar extraction procedure, but also comes with the CFC-free, cheap and easily available solvents Cyclohexane or Cyclopentan. It offers maximum precision in sub-ppm range over a wide measuring range (0.5 to 1000 ppm) in excellent correlation to ASTM D 3921 and D 7066. Eracheck is a portable stand-alone analyzer equipped with the latest communication technology. Data can be saved onto a memory stick and documented in popular PC worksheet formats for further data analysis.
