Industrial O2 analysis boosts efficiency and budget

Mar 24 2020

Accurate and reliable O2 measurement is required to efficiently control any combustion process. If the excess O2 after combustion is too high, energy, i.e. fuel is wasted and the process is cooled unnecessarily. If the excess O2 is too low, higher concentrations of unburned fuel molecules, usually Carbon monoxide, will be present in the flue which is destructive for the plant infrastructure and can lead to a potentially explosive gas mixture.

Enotec’s Oxitec® in situ O2 analyser has become the industry standard due to its accuracy and exceptional robustness. Operating in some of the harshest combustion applications, the O2 sensors alone have a service life of up to 8 years, making them more robust than any comparable product on the market. The standard Oxitec can withstand process gas temperatures up to 600°C and, with the cooling protection tube, this rises to 1600°C!

Enotec’s highly reliable sensor technology leads to direct reductions in operating costs as users avoid the usual semi-annual maintenance and sensor replacement. Enotec analysers carry a global, two-year warranty, even those operating in extreme flue gas conditions.

The fast response time of the sensors enables precise combustion control. Plants functioning efficiently save resources have a longer life usually with improvements to the product, whilst ensuring operator safety and improved environmental performance. Ease of use and simple analyser construction are key: the sensor is calibrated automatically, operating data can be archived or troubleshooting achieved with the free ENOTEC Remote App.  In addition many configuration possibilities are available, enabling use in almost any process, regardless of how aggressive or demanding.

The unparalleled efficiency and reliability of Oxitec® analysers is assured by internationally recognised certifications. Enotec’s analysers are ATEX certified for Ex zones 1/2. The Oxitec® 5000 has successfully passed the demanding TÜV certification testing to meet the EN 15267 standard for emissions measuring systems (QAL1) as well as MCERTS and SIL2 with 1oo1 configuration.
