New from global viscosity measurement specialists Hydramotion Ltd (UK) is a mains-powered benchtop version of its popular Viscolite® VL700-S portable viscometer for real-time continuous viscosity monitoring in laboratory-scale equipment. The Viscolite® VL700-HP offers all the benefits of the portable model with the added advantages of a 4-20 mA analogue viscosity output and an RS232 serial data link for connection to a PC.

Viscolite operation is quick and easy. As with the portable instrument, the solid rod sensor is simply immersed in the fluid under test and viscosity is immediately displayed on the dedicated readout unit. Once measurements are completed, the probe is cleaned within seconds. The VL700HP-T15 small-sample model is capable of measuring fluid volumes down to just 10 ml.

With a range of 0.1 to 10,000 cP in fluids at –20 to +150 °C, the Viscolite VL700-HP has very high repeatability and excellent sensitivity, even at low viscosity. An integrated temperature probe enables temperature-corrected readings to be calculated instantly. Hydramotion also supplies datalogging software for importing the serial data output into Microsoft® Excel™.

The VL700-HP is factory-calibrated to traceable international standards, so no calibration or set-up is required. Rugged construction and the absence of moving parts means the Viscolite needs no accessories and virtually no maintenance, giving an unbeatably low cost of ownership.
