Using Hypoxic Conditions to Yield Better Results

Oct 15 2015

While most hypoxia research has focused on physiologically relevant cells like primary cells and stem cells, it has also been shown that neoplastic cells grow better in low oxygen.  In order to achieve lower oxygen levels the NuAire 5831E from Triple Red has a zirconia ceramic O2 sensor which provides improved accuracy and lower range hypoxic control by displacement with nitrogen.

Multiple inner doors are also recommended to reduce nitrogen usage.  An inner glass door divided into 6 helps to minimise the escape of gas and limit the chances of contamination entering the chamber.  This means the unit will have to inject much less Nitrogen to recover down to the set point and it will be a faster recovery. More efficient and more cost effective.
