A new generation of gas detection, the GenII product line is a complete set of instruments for detecting an array of gases. Backwardscompatible with the first generation of Otis Instruments’ (USA), GenII will boost existing applications, as well as ad numerous features to new setups.

With several radio options for WireFree applications—and various compatible sensors for both WireFree and Wired (4-20mA input) applications—GenII offers unparalleled gas detection options for domestic and international markets.

The first-released components of the GenII product line include: OI-7010 WireFree 32-channel Monitor, OI-6900 Sensor Unit, and OI-6000 Sensor Unit.

The OI-7010 is a hybrid monitor; the device boasts 32 WireFree channels with the option to use 4-20mA input sensor units on the last four channels. The monitor is AC/DC powered and is housed in a NEMA 4 certified enclosure. The device features four 5Amp, configurable dry-contact relays, two graphical LCD displays, power EMI filter, and surge protection.

The OI-7010 Can be configured with up to three radios, allowing optimal flexibility and compliance with most international standards. Radio options include: 900 MHz ISM, 100/250 mW 7-mile Line-Of-Site (LOS) radio for North America and Australia; 2.4 GHz ISM, 100 mW 2.5-mile LOS option for other international applications; or 900 MHz, 100 mW, 7-mile LOS for North America and Australia (legacy option).

The OI-6900 WireFree Sensor Unit is a self-contained battery-powered electro-chemical based ambient gas sensor unit that uses GenII WireFree RF protocol for various gases. The unit is capable of sensing H2S, O2, SO2, CL2, H2, NH3, CO, F2, and HF gases, as well as customerspecific gases not listed here. The unit is powered by a 3.6 Volt Lithium-Thionyl Chloride (LI-SOC12) battery (average battery life one year). The user is allowed to choose either a 900 MHz ISM, 100/250 mW 7-mile LOS radio for North America and Australia, or a 2.4 GHz ISM, 100 mW 2.5-mile LOS option for other international applications.

The OI-6000 Sensor Unit is a wired powered electro-chemical, infrared, catalytic bead, or MOS-based ambient gas sensor unit for various gases. The unit comes standard with 4-20 mA and RS-485 Modbus communications, as well as configurable options that include: relays, Otis Instruments WireFree radio, and ethernet.

The OI-6000 Sensor Unit is capable of detecting gases that include (but are not limited to): H2S, O2, SO2, CL2, H2, NH3, CO, F2, HF, LEL (hydrocarbons), and CO2. The device is powered by 12-24 Volts DC, and draws a maximum of 100 mA. Like the OI-WF6900, radio options for this unit include either a 900 MHz ISM, 100/250 mW 7-mile LOS radio for North America and Australia, or a 2.4 GHz ISM, 100 mW 2.5-mile LOS option for other international applications.

Both sensor units are available in a CSA Class 1 Division I, Groups C & D certified—as well as Atex Zone 1 certified—custom Otis enclosure.

All GenII products feature graphical LCD displays with LED backlight (sunlight readable (transflective), 128 x 68 resolution), and an interface with push-buttons that have congruous magnetically-triggered non-intrusive switches.
