Direct Mark Technology Provides Greater Flexibility for Labs Worldwide

Computype announces advances in barcode marking technologies that offer greater image reliability for a wider range of containers to global healthcare customers. Having long been a provider of pre-labelled and pre-barcoded labware as part of its READY Labware Services offering, Computype understands that labware identification needs often go beyond what a pressure sensitive label can accommodate.

The traditional pressure sensitive label is tried and true, can withstand extreme temperatures, even those as harsh as -196°C, but ultimately isn’t a permanent identification solution. Ceramic labels are fired onto glass labware, ultimately becoming part of the container itself and provide the ultimate in long-term storage, but cannot accommodate customers who utilise plastic containers. Direct mark offers the economic benefits of a pressure sensitive label and the permanent identification features of ceramic labelling regardless if the labware is plastic or glass, ultimately providing global healthcare customers additional options for container identification.

Computype has long been perfecting direct mark technology with the strategic goal of offering customers a permanent identification option for both plastic and glass labware at a moderate price point. “Our READY Labware Services Program offers customers the ultimate in convenience as labware can be procured, marked, tared, and custom-packed all before arriving at the customer location,” said Jeff Denton, Global Product Manager of Computype’s READY Labware Service Program. “The addition of direct mark technology rounds out our product portfolio and allows us to provide customers with the best container identification based on application.”

Globally rebranded in 2016, Computype’s READY Labware Service Program is a tailored service offering suited to customer process and application needs.
