Trace Level Total Chlorine Analysis in Hydraulic Oils
Apr 10 2017
TSHR International developed a new application for the analysis of Total Chlorine in hydraulic oils based on high temperature combustion with microcoulometric detection in compliance with ASTM D4929 and UOP 779 methods.
The TSHR TX 6000 model with boat introduction module was used for the fully automated sample introduction, oxidative combustion and detection of the total chlorine content in a set of hydraulic oil samples at low ppm total chlorine. The samples results were compared with reference data and compared with diluted hydraulic oil samples to check the correlation and accuracy.
The performance data obtained with the TX 6000 model analyzer gives RSD’s below 5% based on 3 replicates. The Athena software for analyser operation, with method templates, can generate also a calibration line if needed for determine the total chlorine content in the samples.
The optional TSHR liquids autosampler, HR 7000 series, can be accessed to this application to drive high productivity and repeatability of analysis.
