High Capacity Biological Sample Concentrator

Feb 13 2006

Barnstead Genevac has announced the miVac Quattro - a versatile, high capacity centrifugal concentrator for biological samples.

Incorporating a four-swing position rotor the miVac Quattro can simultaneously accommodate up to twenty shallow well microplates or eight deep-well plates enabling significant increases in throughput and slashing drying times. A wide variety of available rotors means that the MiVac Quattro is capable of removing water and organic solvents from biological samples in a variety of formats including tubes, microplates, and vials.

Benefiting from a new high displacement pump the miVac Quattro will typically remove water up to 40% faster than traditional concentrators and is extremely quiet when in use. Solvent removal productivity can be further enhanced through addition of the unique miVac SpeedTrap refridgerated condensor.

The compact size of the productive miVac Quattro saves valuable bench space. The simple, robust design of the system will provide many years of reliable service even when used intensively. The intuitive controls allow inexperienced users to get first-class results first time with most samples, whilst providing more sophisticated programming capability for experienced workers. The miVac Quattro offers digital control of concentrator temperature and short concentration times, reducing the risk of heat damage to your samples.

Benchmarked to provide best-of-class performance in all aspects the miVac Quattro provides scientists everything they need to safely and swiftly concentrate or dry their samples in an affordable, easy-to-use package. The miVac Quattro is the ideal system for concentration of solvent from precious samples in applications including oligo-synthesis, RNA/DNA preparation, peptide preparation, sequencing, molecular biology and ADME / toxicology research.
